Marcus O’Donnell is a Melbourne academic, writer and artist. As editor of the Sydney Star Observer in the late 1990s he commissioned Michael Kelly to write a series of essays about sexuality and religion, they discovered a shared history as gay Catholics both drawn to the monastic tradition as young men, this led to an intermittent conversation that lasted 20 years. Marcus is currently Professor of Higher Education at Navitas Australia.
